Apart from exhibition, there will also be a host of competitions and seminars on the beuty industry.
21 May Cendana Hikathon A thrilling and exciting hiking adventure to test the agility of hikers. This event has attracted adventurous hikers from local and international. Hikers will admire the untouched natural trails around the Municipal Park and Penang Hill.
25-31 May Penang Floral Festival 2009 Workshops, contests, exhibitions and classes on related topics are held.
29 May P.Ramlee Festival A showcase of movies and songs will be featured during this festival in memory of our famous Malay entertainment legend. Acting and singing competition based on the work of this Malay film actor, director, singer, and songwriter will also take place during this festival.
30 May Bukit Jambul Hiking Competition This event will attract 1000 hikers from within and foreign countries. Participants will enjoy the natural and beautiful scenery around the hilly terrain.

4-7 Jun Penang Turf Club Equestrian Centre Horse Show It is am equestrian event with competitions in dressage, show jumping and carriage riding. Apart from these competitions, there will be pony rides and carriage rides for the public. A carnival air will prevail with clowns, stage shows for children, food and games stalls. THere will also be an exhibition of various types of horses and ponies to educate the public on the equine industry.
5-6 Jun Penang X'Games This event comprising of Skate Boarding, BMX and Inline Skating. The competition to be held at the Penang Skate Park(International Standard) will attract participants from local and aboard.
6-7 Jun 29th Penang International Dragon Boat Festival Rowers from all over the world including Canada, Russia, Germany and Australia come together to compete in his championship.

24 & 25 Oct Mean Machines The 300,000sq meter Mean Machines is the largest monitoring event in the Northern Region. Apart from showcasing the latest offerings from various car brands and accessories, there will be various competitions on car modification and sound;superbikes,American muscle cars and antique cars as well as a drift demonstration. It will also host the largest gathering of car-clubs in the region with more than 20 car clubs expected to converge in Auto-City.

26 Oct Nine Emperor Gods Festival One of the important festivals celebrated in Penang. The Nine Emperor Gods Festival(Kew Ong Yeah) is celebrated on 1st till 9th day of the Ninth month in the Lunar calendar. Many devotees go on vegetarian diet during these 9 days.
26 Oct Navarthiri Festival A Hindu religious festival similar to the famous Chinese Nine Emperor Gods Festival, for 9days, devotees pray to the Goddess Saraswathy in hopes of power, wealth and education. A chariot procession will also take place on the final day of the festival.

14&15 Nov Penang ECO Challenge Participants from local and abroad will compete in this tough event located in Balik Pulau,Penang. Participants are required to complete running, mountain biking, rafting and abseilling.
15 Nov International Meatless Day Charity Carnival The staging of the carnoval aims to rpomote Penang's cultural diversity and ethnicity through our multifarious vegetarian foods for locals as well as visitors and tourists, including those from Europe, USA, India, China & Taiwan. We intent to show and show and promote Penang as a place where meatless cuisine is rich, plentiful and accessible. THis carnival will have several food stalls selling vegetarian food cooked by participants and chefs from restaurants, hotels, hawkers and also from non-governmental organisations. The carnival will also be used to raised money for charity.

20 Nov Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta The Regatta is Malaysia's most challenging sailing event, involving coastal passage races from Port Klang to Pangkor, Pangkor to Penang, and Penang to Langkawi, with day races at Penang and Langkawi. It attracts international boats and is in its 20th consecutive year.
29 Nov Penang International Bridge Marathon This annual run over the third longest bridge in the world and along the scenic coastal highway cater to serious runners as well as those who enjoy some fun in the sun.
