- This is an unique river, Telom river is situated 1000m above sea level.
- Telom river is located in Cameron Highland, you will find a descent raft path here, though the rain will make the current very strong.
- This is a Grade 2-3 river.
- the best time to raft in Telom river is from February to September.

- Driving from Kuala Lumpur, it takes 4 hours to reach Gua Musang, then you will need to change to 4-wheel drive to get to the starting point of whitewater rafting Telom river.
1 day Telom river whitewater rafting Itinerary
- 8.00am Arrive Brinchang, Cameron Highland
- 8.15am depart by 4WD to Boh Tea estate and from there go down to Bertam Valley to Kampung Tiat. Take this opportunity to visit the Tea farm, 3 hours drive later reach Kampung Tiat
- 12.30pm briefing on rafting techniques.
- 1.00pm start rafting, this river covers a distance of 20km passing 8 rapids
- 5.00pm trip ends.
- There is another 3 days 2 night Telom river package available RM800 per pax, minimum 10 pax
- Day 1
- You will meet the river guide in the afternoon at Brinchang, Cameron Highland. Then resting time is provided, cause the ride to Cameron Highland is quite tiring. Dinner at nearby restaurant.
- Day 2
- Early morning after breakfast you would have to go to Boh Tea estate and down Bertam Valley to Kampung Tiat, you will be given time at Bog Tea Factory, here you can experience tea making, and understand our culture in Cameron Highland. Then you will continue your journey, from here you gotta take a off-road trail to Kampung Tiat which takes 3 hours. On the way you will have the change to enjoy unique flora in this area. Lunch will be provided once you reach Kampung Kiat.
- Then the whitewater rafting briefing starts, rafting equipment will be distributed and you will be divided into 6 per group. Rafting down Telom river to Kuala Perahu is quite a distance, 20km passing though 8 rapids. Refreshments will be served along Telom river. Once you reach Kuala Perahu, dinner will be served, you got to sleep in tent, an outdoor experience for you.
- Day 3
- this is the last day of your trip, you have to help break camp and raft to Kuala Medang, the whole group will stop at Pos Lanai for lunch, you will be given time to swim in the cooling Telom river. this raft is rather calm compared to Telom river whitewater rafting 2nd day raft. The highlight of this last day will be the tree canopy covered river with an impressive 13km distance, once the raft finish the tour is considered finished, you can clean yourselves at the places provided, have a nice trip.

The local climate in Cameron Highland is not what it used to be anymore, it is well known that the climate is not as cool as before. There is official report stating that the surface air temperature increases over time and a drop in rainfall over Cameron highland. This is caused my loss of forest cover, enlarged cultivation plots and increased human activities. At Telom river, the water flow increases over time, caused by land clearing without soil protection measures, and this causes the clear water to turn yellow. Undoubtedly tourism at Cameron Highland will continue to increase, this will harm Telom river's flow in long run. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Telom river.

There's one breed of dog named after Telom - Telomian dog, these dogs were found near Telom river, Pahang, Malaysia. They were working dogs to the Orang Asli, hunting small animals, they're very skilled in climbing also. A Antropologist, Dr. Orville Elliot discovered these dog and some of them were brought to United States. Telomians became highly values in United States and in Europe too.
